Outreach teams are trained to make a difference in their communities

Roving outreach teams are trained on TB management aspects ranging from sputum collection, recording, adherence counselling, patient tracing and contact management. They visit TB patients and their families at their homes, often in deep rural areas.

Support provided at this high TB burden facility focusses on improving case finding and linkage to care. The district TB supervisor has noted that “we have seen vast improvements around our TB program” since the USAID TB LON-SAFT Programme started.
