Research Coordinator: THINK Don McKenzie Clinical Trial Unit, Botha’s Hill
THINK is a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by TB and HIV. As such, THINK conducts clinical trials with the aim to improve treatment for TB and MDR TB patients. THINK is now looking for a diligent and passionate person to join the team at Don McKenzie TB Hospital as Research Coordinator.
The Research Coordinator (RC) is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of Clinical Trial (s). The RC assists the Principal Investigator in ensuring that the Clinical trial(s) deliver to Organisational standard, Sponsor expectations and regulatory practice. The RC coordinates the work of the research team composed of a staff supplement of 8-10.
The RC is expected to oversee recruitment and retention to the trial; ensure that the research work is interlinked with the daily routine of hospital; communicate with monitors, collaborators and other research staff; support data management; and, at every point, maintain Good Clinical Practice and high work ethics within the entire team.
- Higher degree in medical science or relevant discipline
- Experience as research coordinator or project manager
- Evidence of coordination/organizational and management skills
- Experience in clinical research; GCP certificate preferred
- Good knowledge of TB and HIV diagnosis and treatment is preferred.
- A valid Code B Driver’s License and own transport
- Fully computer literate
- Good communication skills
